This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Job Responsibilities                                              

Your specific duties as a VEHICLE SAFETY /CRASH TECHNICIAN will include:      

  • Responsible for coordinating the VSCL product build/assembly where decisions are made within the limits of established practices and standards.
  • Use independent judgment, but can receive some direct guidance from the supervisor.
  • Coordinates the product or component build prior to the test event
  • Installs, operates and maintains VSCL test equipment
  • Repairs experimental or prototype products or components
  • Knowledge of VSCL test site processes/capabilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of VSCL vision
  • Develops and builds VSCL test fixtures
  • Experience with machine/hand tool use
  • Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes
  • Analyze Data
  • Data acquisition and troubleshoot instrumentation problems
  • TIP concerns generation / investigation / resolution
  • Active participation in GMS including Business Plan Deployment (BPD)



     

VEHICLE SAFETY /CRASH TECHNICIAN

Job Requirements

As a VEHICLE SAFETY /CRASH TECHNICIAN you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read written instructions, reports, correspondence, etc.
  • Ability to write clear and concise information
  • Strong oral communications with VSCL team members and customers
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical functions, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Knowledge of the following standard office equipment
  • Computers & Windows software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Telephones
  • Copy, fax and shredders
  • Organizational skills such as:
  • Manage time effectively
  • Adhere to scheduled deadlines
  • Coordinate tasks and duties
  • Prioritize work
  • Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices
  • Ability to do physical labor in an enclosed environmental chamber from temperature at -30? C to 85? C (Must pass physical exam)
  • Ability to achieve a 142-Newton (32-lbf) belt load on a child restraint system
  • Ability to repeatedly perform activities involving bending, twisting, pulling and lifting of vehicle components or test equipment up to 40 pounds, unassisted.
  • Some overhead assembly/disassembly operations may be required
  • Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.
  • Create strong working/professional relationship with all VSCL team members
  • Contribute to the success and productivity of the department
  • Demonstrate professionalism when interfacing with customers in person or via electronic methods
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude at all times
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all customer data
  • Exercise good judgment and follow-through
  • Target areas in need of improvement and generate new ideas that promote continuous improvement
