Job Responsibilities                                              

Your specific duties as a Plant Controller will include:        

  • Provides financial guidance and assistance to the business unit management; develops and maintains procedures for the financial control of all assets, revenues, and operating expenses; develops annual operating plan; is responsible for the accuracy of accounting methods, accounting records, and financial reports.
  • Establishes procedures to ensure sound financial control of assets, and reviews and upgrades cost and general accounting activities to ensure that all systems are properly developed and maintained to meet business unit financial reporting timetables.
  • Coordinates the preparation of the annual operating and strategic plan.
  • Prepares and interprets financial statements; directs the preparation of interprets financial analysis of operations; analyzes and counsels management on variance from the annual plan.
  • Evaluates and assists in the preparation of capital expenditure requests.
  • Directs the annual physical inventory.
  • Insures that the accounting and reporting follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provides financial information to management and other personnel outside the plant.
  • Coordinate annual standard cost reviews and changes throughout the year.
  • Coordinate weekly manufacturing forecasts Coordinate monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Perform various other manufacturing and operations analysis and reporting.
  • Participate in monthly closing activities with an emphasis on manufacturing and operations support.
  • Assist with Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley efforts/requirements.

Job Requirements

As a Plant Controller you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, an MBA or CPA desirable.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in cost accounting and budgeting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other industry standards relating to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex financial data to the organization.
  • Excellent communications skills.
