Our client has a need for a Designer. This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Job Responsibilities                                              

Your specific duties as a Designer will include:      

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment
  • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
  • Analyze technical implications of architect's design concept, calculating weights, volumes, and stress factors.
  • Build landscape, architectural and display models
  • Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
  • Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
  • Calculate weights, volumes, and stress factors and their implications for technical aspects of designs.
  • Determine quality, cost, strength and quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists.
  • Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects such as highways, sewage disposal systems, and dikes, working from sketches or notes.

Job Requirements

As a Designer you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 10+ years’ experience required

    Responsibility level

  • Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

    Skills

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability
  • Team player and detail oriented
  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Expert knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Expert knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting; Typically required)
