Senior Automotive Diagnostic Software Engineer – C++

Min 12 Months Contract (Long-term Project)

Markham, ON

SHIFTS

  • Currently working from home/WFH8 AM – 5 PM EST - adjusted as required

TRAVELLING

  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada and be able to travel to the US based on existing/valid visa status.
  • Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • The successful candidate will be part of a team of engineers responsible for defining, developing and deploying new diagnostic software solutions for high performance computing platforms and sensors, including LiDARs, radars, cameras.
  • You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to quickly deliver high quality, production level code that is core to the diagnostics of autonomous and active safety systems.

CORE RESPONSIBILITY

  • Own and develop diagnostic software solutions as part of a larger team; leading and participating in future development
  • Collaborate with Controls and Diagnostic Architecture Engineers in defining requirements, and design reviews to drive software (C++) solutions
  • Lead and participate in code, and low-level test case reviews.
  • Conduct software verification (unit testing, simulation, and in-vehicle as needed).
  • Provide clear and complete documentation per the software development process.
  • Collaborate with team members through Scrum/Agile. Utilize agile software development methodologies including continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Take ownership of each project, make design and implementation decisions autonomously, and mentor junior members.
  • Be an integral part of a new and energetic team.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 10+ years designing and developing in C++
  • Development knowledge in another language (e.g. C/Python/Matlab)
  • Expert in object-oriented software development, algorithms, and data structures
  • Experience working with large code bases, developing entirely new code and maintaining existing code
  • Experience providing guidance, leadership, and mentoring to team members
  • Ability to investigate issues based on limited information.
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical ability to resolve complex problems
  • Creative, disciplined, strong sense of responsibility, delivery and schedule commitment
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Network, and Powertrain
  • Exposure to Automotive Platforms (Ethernet/CAN/LIN, AUTOSAR)
  • Exposure to sensorscameras, radars, LiDARs
  • Exposure to GPU computing
  • Experience with SAFe methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of controls theory
  • Experience developing diagnostic systems (OBDII) and functional safety control systems (ISO26262)
