We are a leading staffing firm and our clients include some over the nation’s biggest companies. Our client has a need for a Product Engineer- Restraints. This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Applicant must be eligible to work in the US for immediate opening.  For this opportunity, the successful candidate will be directly employed by Bartech Staffing as a W2 employee while providing services to our end client.

Product Engineer- Restraints        

Job Responsibilities                                              

Your specific duties as a Product Engineer- Restraints will include: 

  • Compensation (Range):  / hour : 35-39 HR
  • Restraints Systems Engineer, you will be responsible to develop and integrate Airbag, Seatbelt, or Steering Wheel components into the vehicle interior.
  • Generating and executing technical solutions for Restraints application engineering to support new vehicle programs
  • Providing technical leadership for advanced component or technology development
  • Performing complex design analysis and evaluating engineering designs
  • Working cross-functionally to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and to support prototype and production build activities
  • Balancing business imperatives, including but not limited to cost, mass, complexity, and timing
  • Production design release of seat belt parts and subsystems
  • Communicating information to and from internal and external customer organizations
  • Staying abreast of relevant new technology and competitive products

Job Requirements

As a Product Engineer- Restraints you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 3-5 years experience preferred
  • Master’s Degree or other Advanced Degree
  • Familiarity with the engineering of seat belt components or application into vehicles including validation and regulatory compliance
  • Experienced in Design For Six Sigma
  • Experience in RedX methodology
  • Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Knowledge of seat belt components and testing, plastic materials and processes, metal forming, assembly processes, and safety regulations
  • Experience working within automotive OEM systems and VDP, and experience with automotive component suppliers
