We are a leading staffing firm and our clients include some over the nation’s biggest companies. Our client has a need for a Powertrain Technician. This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Applicant must be eligible to work in the US for immediate opening.  For this opportunity, the successful candidate will be directly employed by Bartech Staffing as a W2 employee while providing services to our end client.

Powertrain Technician        

Job Responsibilities                                              

Your specific duties as a Powertrain Technician will include:          

  • Compensation (Range):30-33.50  / hour
  • Perform powertrain calibration development and validation tasks and report results in validation documents.
  • Design and develop test plans, procedures, content and timing.
  • Aid engineers in development of new methods, instrumentation, procedures.
  • Routinely review workgroup practices to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements to local supervision.
  • Oversee maintenance of test vehicles.
  • Coordinate and track updates of test vehicles including instrumentation and initial build.
  • Support in-territory test and development trips, arrange vehicle transportation

Job Requirements

As a Powertrain Technician you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Expert engine and vehicle mechanical and diagnostic skills- especially diesel engine.
  • Expert knowledge of vehicle sub-system operation.
  • Working knowledge of diesel P/T controls S/W and H/W Working knowledge of emission testing and powertrain CETP’s.
  • Knowledge engine emission and OBD regulations and test procedures.
  • Working knowledge of ord test facilities and prototype build process and facilities.
  • Ability to support travel.
  • 3+ years of powertrain test and/or development experience.
  • Associates' degree or equivalent experience..
