Automotive Electrical Engineer

12 Moths Contract

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Proposes and evaluates electrical controls and components for assigned areas of plant
  • Directs the development and implementation of electrical controls
  • Evaluates expenditures for controls and/or equipment
  •  Procures electrical controls/devices
  • Provides technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations
  • Maintains all documentation (blueprints, manuals, programs)
  • Maintain regular contact with others outside the work group, both employees and outside suppliers
  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives
  • Must support plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals
  • Must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required
  • Supports/implements the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability in the areas listed below
  • Ability to work with others'

  • High level of analytical ability to deal with unusual and difficult problems
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

Required Education/Training:

  •  4-year college degree or relevant/equivalent experience


  • Primarily Days, with approximately 10% of the time working on other shifts, either supporting projects or production.
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
  • PLC driven, working on everything from helping with maintenance with helping issues, making improvements, robotics, PLC's, time spent supporting operation with technical supports
  • Working Primarily days but may adjust 24-hour day facility - 14 weeks on day and the 1 week on later shift. Common for shifts to change
  • Potential for travel - very rare MI, OH, sometimes TN
    If involved in a new project, could travel to the vendor
  • Launching a new product
  • March timeframe - March 1st or even later


  • All remote - video interviews
  • Each candidate to be interviewed twice - 2 team viewpoints
  • Sr. leader, technical manager, engineering team leaders
  • STAR interview - give situations, action, and resulted. What they learned - getting to know that person
