Job Title:

Duties:

  • As an Automation Software Engineer on the Cities team, your work will directly contribute to one of the most potent elements of client’s commitment to operate as a 21st-century company by enabling us to partner with the communities we serve for the betterment of those communities.
  • The software systems you build will help cities implement and manage home-sharing regulations at scale around the world, and make it easier for our hosts to know about and comply with those regulations.
  • Your contributions will focus on our highly strategic engineering effort of automating the configuration and deployment of our standard suite of regulatory products.
  • This initiative directly supports client’s essential commitment, at scale, to regulatory compliance in the communities we serve.

You may also contribute to:

  • Building a long-term regulatory platform with well-defined APIs that is service-oriented, modular, granular, observable, configurable, and efficient.
  • Developing an industry-first portal that enables city officials to directly understand the impact of client on their communities and manage compliance with local regulations, as applicable
  • Creating highly-automated, auditable, access-controlled tools for client’s compliance managers to address off-platform compliance issue.
  • Designing intuitive experiences for hosts that make it simple for them to learn about and comply with their local regulations.
  • Team is open to candidates across the US working remotely.
  • Potential conversion to FTE at the end of the contract.

Skills: Must Haves:

  • 3+ years working as a software engineer
  • 3+ Years of experience using Java
  • Experience with back end development. Should not be completely front end 'heavy'.
  • Bias for action and ability to operate in an ambiguous environment
  • Candidates must be detail oriented
  • Must be familiar with Service - Oriented Architecture design patterns

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or related web technologies
  • Experience building automated workflows is a plus
  • Experience with Ruby

Interview Process:

  • Hacker Rank Test: 1 hour to complete. Take Home Test. Manager will email test to candidate directly. 48 hours to complete.
  • Live coding interview w/ team: Part I: Automation | Part II: Architecture Live HM interview

First Day/Week Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will be reviewing videos and will be conducting training sessions in order to have them ramped up to support the team.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science If no degree; MUST HAVE eqiuvilant experience (no less than 3 years) Skills and Experience:
